There are 3 main versions of the soundtracks : The original game music, the symphonic versions and piano versions. As a general rule, one can assume that there are 3 different versions of soundtracks for each game in the series (including DQ monsters and other spin-offs). For a comprehensive list of DQ soundtracks please consult 'diasEquip', an excel file I am constantly updating with DQ equip information. Be warned that 'SM' versions and 'Ever Anime' versions are counterfit bootlegs. I found this out AFTER I bought my DQ & Star Ocean soundtracks...
