Dragon Quest (Dragon Warrior) Guidebooks were released in both official and unofficial capacities. Several guidebooks in Japan, (specifically for DQ IV - VI) are released as 2 guidebooks / game, one that contains walkthrough information and another that contains equip & bestiary information. Guides have been released in North America first as Nintendo Power guides, then Explorere's guidebooks (handbooks that are the similar in size of a game manual, but complete with information) and finally as official guidebooks from Prima or Brady games.
